Anyone else like me where you can’t even dream about recapping your vacation until you’re unpacked, laundry is done, and the house is back to how it was before you left on your trip? 🙋🏻‍♀️ I hate that I’m this way, but the nice thing is that as I sit and look at my spring break pictures today, all is right in my world!

We had the best time in Florida last week! It was a different kind of spring break for us this year. Our college and high school breaks didn’t match up so we decided to make the most of the long weekend for Easter. It took six separate flights to get us all into Florida, but we did it! I was worried about this being over the top, flying everyone in to Sarasota for just a few days, but I’m so glad that we did. And here’s why.

☀️The older my kids get, the more I realize how hard it is to get them all in one place. (We really missed our Grace this year, but she was on vacation with my sister so I knew she was in a good spot!)

☀️ When you can get your kids AWAY, you really get the best visits with them and they get the best visits with each other! The bigger their lives get, the harder it is to get their attention.

☀️ When you are a born and bred Midwesterner like me, you can’t put a price on the value of sunshine in March! We had three straight days of total warmth and sunshine in Sarasota and it’s amazing what that Vitamin D can do for the body and soul!

I was also able to add an extra day on to my vacation to visit my parents who are in Florida for the month and my sister who was in town for a baseball tournament with her family. We spent the day in Palm Beach, which I think may be one of the most beautiful places in all world. It was a last-minute decision to meet up with my sister and follow my parents around for the day, but it was AWESOME!

I’ll be thinking about Florida until the sun comes out again in Lake Forest. Until then, I will happily recap where we stayed and ate in Sarasota and post on the blog very soon. But bottom line, if you can take the trip...take the trip! And even better if you can get your kids to come along! XO
