Be a Glow-Getter

I wanted to share one of my favorite finds from quarantine with you. Over the last couple of months, I’ve tried lots of new beauty products. And one of my favorites that’s been fun for summer has been these Isle of Paradise self-tanning drops I found among the “clean” products at Sephora. (Clean at Sephora means the products is formulated without a list of over 50 ingredients, including sulfates [SLS and SLES], parabens, phthalates, and more.)

I learned that the founder of the Isle of Paradise Drop, Jules Von Hep, discovered them after he was hired to be a makeup artist on the Dancing With the Stars program in Great Britain. The producers of this show tracked him down because he had a reputation for applying self-tanner to his clients better than any other and Dancing With the Stars was having a problem with their dancers looking too orange. So after working with the show’s dancers with all different skin types, genders, and ages–he came up with the perfect formulation that he boiled down into a dropper.

The beauty of this product is how easy it is to apply. If I decide I need a little glow, I mix a single drop into my moisturizer before bed and put it all over my face and neck. If I also want to add to my chest, I add another drop into few squirts of my moisturizer. It’s as easy as that. I just wash my hands, go to bed, and wake up glowing. And the smell from these drops is very mild, sometimes I don’t smell it all.

If I decide to use these drops, I don’t use my Vitamin C product. I heard it’s best not to use any products with active ingredients like the CE Ferulic if you’re also using the Isle of Paradise drops. So I typically just take the night off from CE Ferulic on the one to two nights I use the drops.

The Isle of Paradise drops come in three colors and Sephora can help you decide what is best for your skin color. I use the medium drops (the green ones) and I adhere to the one-drop rule. On the nights I’ve been a little more aggressive, I think I look a little orange when I wake up. It fades pretty fast, but I prefer to avoid that.

There is also an Isle of Paradise body spray that is equally good but a little harder to master the application. Sephora sells the drops with a body spray and it’s a great value and definitely worth trying. Just be sure to wash your hands thoroughly when you’re finished.

Some days a little glow is just the pick-me-up you need!
