Friday Five

Happy Friday! As my kids told me this morning, we only have two more to go until Spring Break (Cabo here we come!). My older kids are coming home from college today for their spring breaks. We’ll be kicking off their week of fun with a must-win basketball game for the Lake Forest Scouts tonight. It will be great to have the whole crew under one roof again…even if it’s only for a night!

Let’s kick off this Friday with some of my favorite things from the week.

Lemon Stripes Pasta Fagioli Recipe: This was so good that my kids were literally fighting over the leftovers! This is an easy-to-make, meatless option that you need to put into your dinner rotation. Here’s the link.

The Dropout:Hulu released the first three episodes of the The Dropout yesterday. This is the story of Elizabeth Holmes and the rise and fall of her billion dollar venture Theranos. Amanda Seyfried is virtually unrecognizable as Holmes in that she’s a character like none other she has ever played. This is a must watch!

Both/And by Huma Abedin: This week, following my deep dive into Anna Delvey, I started the audiobook for Huma Abedin’s memoir Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds. Abedin has been Hillary Clinton’s right-hand person for nearly two decades and this book explores their relationship, as well as Abedin’s extraordinary upbringing as an American who grew up in the Middle East. I’m only as far as Abedin working in the Clinton White House, but the story so far is incredibly compelling and enlightening.

Statement Collars: I can’t get enough of the statement collar trend. I think it’s starting to wind down a bit as we head into spring, but this one (size down), this one (size up), and this one (true to size) are pretty darn cute.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Under Eye Gel Masks: If you need a little pick-me-up, these under-eye masks are a great little boost. I’ve seen the new trend of women wearing these under their sunglasses in the morning, but I just put them on if I’m feeling extra puffy as I’m brushing my teeth and doing my hair. I think they would be great in your carryon too after a long flight if you’re heading out of town.

Have a super weekend!

xo,
