My Charleston Packing List

I look forward to our summer getaway with the kids every year. They seem to be getting shorter and shorter as they get older, but I’ll take whatever I can get. We’ve learned that if we really want to have our kids be present, we need to get them out of town. So we asked them of all of the places we’ve been where they’d like to go again and they suggested Charleston.

I know we’re heading to Charleston at its hottest time, but we’re just looking for some good eating, time at the beach, maybe a little golf, and definitely some shopping. It will be fine. Actually with all my kids with me…it will be great!

I feel like my vibe lately has been very “Charleston-y” with all of my flowy dresses, so packing for this trip has been very fun. Today I’m sharing what I’m bringing on the chance this might be helpful to you. (Wherever it makes sense, I’ve included my sizing because I know how hard online shopping can be. I’m 5’6″ and 140ish on a good day for reference.)

White dress This Anthropologie dress is my all-time favorite silhouette. I wear a small.

Striped swimsuit This is a great “mom suit” without being too momish. (I wear an 8.)

Coverup/dress Use the code ANNMARIE at checkout for 15% off! (Size up with this one…I wear a medium.)

White blouse Just a classic, breezy piece. (I wear a size 6.)

White jeans I always go up a size from my usual when it comes to white denim, but this is my favorite pair to date. (I wear a size 29.)

Khaki linen pants I’ve given up on wearing shorts, so as crazy as it sounds, these wide-legged pants have become my go to. (I wear a small.)

Striped dress This is one of my favorite summer dresses. It chicly covers up my trouble spots (hello small shoulders and jiggly upper arms!) and gives the nicest silhouette. (I wear a small.)

Floral dress or here This is the flowiest of my dresses. It has lots of ruffles but feels very Charleston. Definitely size down in this one. (I wear a small.)

Large travel tote These Naghedi bags are the only ones I really use any more. I’ve loved my small one so much that I invested in a bigger one for traveling. I also think this bag will be great for the beach. As a reminder, it’s made of neoprene (it looks like leather!) and is super lightweight. And, I can literally throw it in the washing machine when it gets dirty.

Carryon suitcase I bought this bag years ago before I went to Iceland and I’ve used nothing else ever since. Its a super roller bag and very well priced.

Espadrille slides I just can’t get enough of raffia making these slides the perfect summer shoe.

Running shoes We love our long walks for coffee on vacation so I’m taking my favorite Hokas to Charleston.

Running shorts These Amazon shorts are amazing! I size up in these for a little more length. (I wear a large.)

Sunglasses I bought these for spring break and really haven’t reached for any others since.

Tank top This high neck tank is a favorite! I wasn’t sure it would breathe as well as some of lululemon’s tech tees, but it’s great! (I wear a size 8.)

Pajamas Best pajamas ever!!! (I wear a medium.) Use the code ANNMARIE at checkout for 15% off!

Bracelets I’ve worn only these bracelets all summer.

Earrings Another favorite. Incredibly lightweight given their size.

White sneakers These are a summer go-to (make that an all-season go-to).

Sandals I love these for everyday or even as a prettier shoe for a night out. Super comfortable.

Everyday tote This is just pretty!

I hope this helps you find some pretty options for the summer fun you have ahead! Please let me know what you think!

xo,

My dress above is from Julia Amory. I thank my sweet friend Katie Cassman for turning me on to this brand. It’s just beautiful. I bought my dress on sale. As summer comes to a close, I bet you’ll be able to do the same.
