Lucky for us North Shore ladies, two East Coast sisters decided to re-imagine fleece. Not only is this brand super chic, it’s female-owned, manufactured in the United States (Brooklyn, New York to be exact), and sustainable. Dudley Stephens’ lightweight terry fleece is spun from recycled plastic bottles that would otherwise find their way into landfills. To date, their fleece pieces have redirected over 1,000,000 plastic bottles (and counting!) into sustainable style.
The Cobble Hill Turtleneck is definitely my new go-to for winter. While I did pay more than one would expect to spend on a fleece top, this turtleneck is anything but typical. I love that it’s longer than most and has pockets–my favorite! Additionally, the slim silhouette keeps Dudley Stephens tops from feeling like a boxy sweatshirt (although I do recommend sizing up if you’re tall or busty).
Today, Dudley Stephens is introducing their beautiful pieces at the goop pop-up in Chicago at 48 E. Oak Street through the holidays. (Did you know goop was here??) I have a field trip to check out the store next week!
Finally, one last little detail I love about Dudley Stephens is their logo–an embroidered pineapple. When the founders were asked why the pineapple, I thought their answer was so sweet. They see the pineapple as accessible, but kind of luxurious–a symbol of comfort that is pretty, but has a purpose. Just like them.
