Girls, I’m seeing red and I have never been happier. For a red lipstick lover like me, every day is Christmas in December!
Today, I share four of my favorite red lipsticks that are guaranteed to make your days merry and bright. I know lipstick can be a little bit of a pain under a mask, but true beauty takes pain, people! (At least that’s what my Nana used to say! Ha!) This is all in good fun, but lip color has always been a game-changer for me.
Here are my four favorite red lipsticks for 2020:
Bite Beauty’s “Negroni:” Truth be told, I started wearing this color on the first day of fall. It’s bright with orange and blue tones…I think it’s perfect! “Negroni” is from Bite Beauty’s line of matte crayon lipsticks that can’t be beat. (I think it’s misleading to call them “matte” because, in my mind, that’s a flat finish and there is definitely some shine to these!) These matte crayons are super moisturizing, don’t bleed outside the lip line, and truly stay on all day.
Nars “Famous Red:” This red lip crayon truly lives up to its name and is very mask friendly. There’s something about its powder-y matte finish that gives it a staying power. And, with its blue undertones, Famous Red is universally flattering on all skin tones. (If you’re a local, Bluemercury carries this brand.)
Beautycounter’s “Girls’ Night:” This is clean beauty at its best. Girls’ Night is the creamiest red of this bunch and it’s incredibly moisturizing. The minty, menthol formula will put you into the holiday spirits the minute you apply.
Fresh Beauty “Icon”: If you’re still afraid of a bold red lip, there is a way to have one without totally leaving your comfort zone. Last year, my good friend Laura (who designed the beautiful logo for my blog) told me about the Fresh Sugar balms that come in a variety of colors. This year’s red–Icon–is the most beautiful sheer red. I love to grab this one when I’m on the go.
