Seeing Red: Lipsticks That Make Your Holidays Bright

November 13, 2019 By Ann Marie Scheidler 1 Comment

For a lipstick-loving girl like me, the holidays are the best! They make a wearing a bright red lip always perfectly on trend.

While I don’t know much about a lot of things, I do know my way around a counter filled with lipsticks. I have done the legwork and have figured out which line I love most.

Nars Velvette Matte lip pencils, available at Bluemercury

In my opinion, Nars Velvet Matte lip pencils are the best! Although they have a matte finish, they glide on and aren’t drying at all. Even with dry winter lips, these Nars lip pencils feel incredibly moisturizing, stay in place, and last all day long. You barely need to reapply.

My favorite colors are Famous Red and Dragon Girl. They have blue undertones which makes them almost universally flattering to blondes and brunettes alike. They’re great daytime colors and immediately brighten your face. For night-time, I love Endangered Red and Mysterious Red.

Cheers to a brighter holiday with even brighter lips!

I have to admit that I'm a little anxious going into this inauguration week. I'm truly hoping we'll have the peaceful transition that we've been promised. As if she knew my mind was a little unsettled, my mom shared this quote from Pope Francis in our sister group text this week.⁣
⁣
"Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit, the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is...Life is good when you are happy, but much better when others are happy because of you."⁣

I ❤️ this! Let's have a great week. Happy happy Sunday! ❌⭕️⁣
