Charleston Travel Favorites

Happy Friday! What a week. I kicked it off in Charleston with the best family vacation and I’m ending it with my youngest son at the Sam Hunt concert in Milwaukee. I think this is what you call summering hard!

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that school sports seasons are starting next week, but here we are. I’m so grateful for the family vacation we were able to squeeze in Charleston last week. It may have been the best one we ever had. We all agreed it was the perfect amount of activity and downtime. Tomorrow, I’m going to share everything we did in Charleston, including where we ate and what we did. But today, I’m sharing a few of my favorite things from our trip.

Charleston Hotel: I can’t talk about our Charleston trip without telling you how much I loved our hotel. We stayed at the French Quarter Inn and I can’t say enough about it. It’s been a long time since I stayed somewhere so nice, especially since we were traveling with all of the kids. But some of the perks that made the hotel so special actually ended up saving us a little money, too. For example, the French Quarter Inn is so perfectly located that you can get away without renting a car or even taking any Ubers. We walked everywhere and it was wonderful! The Inn also provided a full complementary breakfast, afternoon snacks and cocktails, and late-night dessert every day. Feeding our crew is no joke, especially in an expensive city like Charleston, so these extra meals came in clutch for my kids. And, all of the luxuries of daily room cleaning and turn-down service were back in our post-pandemic world and it was heavenly. Highly, highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Charleston with just the nicest people watching over your stay.

Packing cubes: How have I lived 51 years and not known that packing cubes were a thing? These inexpensive ones from Amazon were a total game changer, especially in a world where checking a bag isn’t an option and we still want to bring all the things. I hate packing, but these actually made it fun–thinking up categories for each cube. Like, I had a cube for dresses, one for workout gear, and another for shoes. (So fascinating, right?) These cubes satisfied all of my organizational desires.

Naghedi large St. Barth’s Tote: I have long been an MZ Wallace Metro Tote carryon gal because I love the zipper closure, but I decided to give the larger version of my favorite bag of 2022 a whirl–the Naghedi St. Barth’s Tote–and I think I’m a convert. The Naghedi totes are made of neoprene and are super lightweight. The handles are incredibly stretchy and made this bag easy to manage through security and on the plane. And, I kind of loved being able to see where everything was. One of the best parts is that I could just throw this tote right into the washing machine when we got home. Love!

The perfect white dress: Summer 2022 will forever be the summer of the dress for me and this one from English Factory might be my favorite white dress of all time. And you will never believe the price…$90!! (For sizing reference, I wear a small.)

Pink readers: I can’t go anywhere without reading glasses these days and these readers from Peepers are just the cutest. I have this style stashed all over my house and I traveled to Charleston with these pink ones. If I have to be old and use readers, they might as well be fabulous. And again, you won’t be able to beat the price.

I have so much fun content coming up next week. Be sure to check back early and often!

Have a great weekend!

xo,

Outfit details: I bought this dress from a darling store in Charleston last week called Madison Mathews. They have a number of dresses in the most flattering silhouettes in a variety of colors. Enter ANNMARIE at checkout for 10% off your purchase. And my little crossbody is…shocking…from Naghedi, too. I’ve linked it here.
