Lake Bluff History Museum Christmas Home Tour Takes Place This Sunday, December 8

Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s time to get that holiday decorating underway. But if you’re like most of us, you might be looking for some inspiration.

Well, you’re in luck! This Sunday, December 8, the Lake Bluff History Museum is hosting its annual Christmas Home Tour. Homes on the tour include a turn-of-the-century 20th century Queen Anne built by a major player in the vaudeville circuit; a beautiful stone gatehouse built in 1925 on the grounds of one of the village’s most significant estates; and a farmhouse-style home whose unexpected interior will inspire. You will enjoy a special day of fun while collecting ideas for your own holiday decor from homeowners and local designers Soledad Zitzewitz of Soledad Zitzewitz Interiors in Lake Bluff, Jory Cathlina of Hazel James Home in Highland Park, and Vicki Lidstrom of Leggy Bird Designs in Lake Bluff.

“The outdoors will be bustling with wreaths hanging and garland draping and lots of twinkling warm lights to brighten the winter days,” says Vicki Lidstrom, whose own home will be featured on the home tour, showcasing new decor upstairs and a completely renovated lower level that has been designed to look like a speakeasy on one end and a teen’s dream hangout on the other. “I love our little miracle town of Lake Bluff and would do anything to help the Lake Bluff History Museum. I hope everyone has it on their calendar to come on the tour.”
