My Fall Nighttime Skincare Routine

There has been so much written this year about the importance of self care. And as selfish as this sometimes feels, we can’t pour from an empty cup. It’s so important to take care of yourself!

The one time when being self-indulgent feels guilt free is right before I go to bed. I have a nighttime skincare routine that has me feeling so much better about my skin. I look forward to it every night!

Late in the summer, I started using a foundation/sunscreen from Revision Skincare that I love so much called Intellishade. It’s a moisturizer, anti-aging product, and sunscreen all in one. The best part is that it comes in only one color, removing all of the guesswork of color-matching (which is especially wonderful since it’s nearly impossible to test cosmetics these days).

Having had such great luck with Intellishade, I decided to shake up my nighttime routine with a few of their skincare products. Here’s how it works.

First, I take off my makeup with a makeup wipe. I know these are not an industry favorite, but I find these are best at taking off my eye makeup. My favorites are from the Yes to Grapefruit brand.

Then, I apply a couple of drops of this highly concentrated Vitamin C serum from Skinceuticals called CE Ferulic. It’s suggested that women over 40 use it daily to help with anti-aging (yes!), loss of firmness, and brightening. Even though it smells like hot dogs, I can’t live without it.

Next, I’ve started using Revision Skincare’s DEJ Eye Cream. A little of this goes a long way and I use it morning and night. This visibly reduces the appearance of sagging, wrinkles, redness, and hooding around the eye area and eyelid. It’s amazing!

Finally, my last step is to apply DEJ Night Cream on my face, neck, and chest. This cream has .25% Retinol and is the first retinoid I’ve used that doesn’t make my skin flake. As a reminder, retinol is one of the key ingredients to helping with skin health and is very important for women in my age group. It’s awesome!

The very last thing I’m trying at night is Lumiquin, a hand cream from Revision Skincare. I heard an interview with the company’s CEO she was asked what the one product is she couldn’t live without and she said this hand cream. It’s formulated to work best at night. I definitely think my hands show my age, so I’m giving it a try and will report back on the results.

I hope this little rundown was helpful. I really like the science and research behind these products and am thrilled so far with the results. Please let me know if you have tried any of them! I’d love to know your experience.

xo,

P.S. My kids make fun of my obsession with pajama sets, but these are so cute! They’re from a Philadelphia-based company called PrintFresh and they have the cutest designs. You can get 15% off at checkout with the code ANNMARIE. Definitely a fun gift idea or a little treat for yourself!
