Friends, you know this is going to be hard for this lipstick fan to say, but I’ve had to channel some of that lip love to my eyes these days since that’s all people can see when I’m wearing my mask (which is all of the time!). I’ve never been much into eye makeup because I’m not very good at putting it on, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Am I right?
So when I stumbled upon this Beautycounter Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in “Romantic,” I had to share it. I’m a brown-eyed girl who loves every single color in this collection, some for every day and some for when I need to take it up a notch. Beautycounter is a clean beauty brand (meaning there’s an extensive list of ingredients the company has deemed harmful and never use) and it seems as the years go on, so does the quality and staying power of their cosmetics. These eye shadows are among the best I’ve ever used. For powders, they go on almost like a cream and last all day.
Day to day, I alternate between using Cameo, Brulee, or Candelight as a sweeping base coat over my whole eyelid (up to my eyebrow). I then use Truffle or Dusk on my lid just to add a little color. There’s a little bit of shimmer, but it’s very subtle.
The sparkle-y color in the middle–Moondust–will be so much fun for the holidays. Last year, I learned a trick where you take your makeup brush after you’ve applied the shadow and literally press it on to your eyelid after you’ve put on your base eye color. It will make your eyes pop!
